Made for real timber
WOCA products are designed specifically for timber, inside and out. WOCA Exterior Wood Oil penetrates the wood rather than sitting on top, while Diamond Oil Active provides a durable finish for interior floors, tabletops, furniture and other timber.
Proven in New Zealand Conditions
WOCA Exterior Wood Oil contains UV filters to help slow colour fade and is water-based and low-VOC. It is designed for cedar, larch, Accoya, Kwila, pine, oak and most other exterior timbers, across coastal, suburban and alpine sites.
VOC-free and low-VOC formulations
WOCA products include VOC-free and low-VOC formulations, depending on the product and application. Always follow the product label, Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet for the product you are using.

In New Zealand, WOCA Exterior Wood Oil is available in 14 standard colours, along with a range of additional colours developed for New Zealand projects. We can also develop custom colours for larger projects. The oil enhances the natural colour and grain of the wood, while pigmented finishes can be used to refresh or change the colour of exterior timber.
We recommend testing the colour on your project timber before placing a full order. WOCA Denmark also recommends testing the product on a less visible area first to check compatibility. You can order test pots in our online store.
Yes. For larger New Zealand projects we can develop custom colours to suit the timber and design intent. Contact us to discuss your project.
Yes. WOCA Denmark instructs that both new and previously treated wood should be cleaned with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner before oiling. Allow the timber to dry for at least 24 hours and ensure the wood moisture is no higher than 17% before applying WOCA Exterior Wood Oil.
WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner is designed for thorough cleaning of exterior wood surfaces such as terraces, garden furniture, fences, canopies, doors and windows. It removes dirt, stains and grease and prepares the surface for subsequent treatment.
Wet the timber with water, then mix WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner with water at a ratio of 1:2 to 1:10 depending on how dirty the surface is. Apply evenly with a brush or spray nozzle, leave it to work for five minutes, scrub in the direction of the grain, then rinse thoroughly. Allow the timber to dry for at least 24-48 hours at 20°C before applying WOCA Exterior Wood Oil.
WOCA Exterior Wood Primer is designed for highly absorbent, softwood and vulnerable timber. WOCA Denmark lists fir, Accoya, larch, pine, oak and non-impregnated wood among the timbers it is well suited for. Refer to the relevant Technical Data Sheet for your timber before starting.
WOCA Exterior Wood Primer helps reduce cracking and deterioration, protects wood against moisture and improves the adhesion and durability of the subsequent surface treatment.
Clean the surface with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner and make sure it is completely dry and free from dust and dirt. Shake the container well, then apply WOCA Exterior Wood Primer undiluted with a brush or roller in a thorough, even coat, starting with the end grain. The primed surface should then be treated with WOCA Exterior Wood Oil within 14 days.
WOCA Exterior Wood Oil is used as a two-coat system in New Zealand. WOCA Denmark lists coverage of approximately 8-12 m² per litre, with actual coverage varying depending on the timber and how absorbent the surface is. Allow enough product to complete both coats across the full project area.
Measure the surface area in square metres and use WOCA Denmark's coverage guide of approximately 8-12 m² per litre as a starting point. In New Zealand, WOCA Exterior Wood Oil is used as a two-coat system, so allow enough product for both coats. Coverage will vary depending on the timber and its absorbency.
Clean new and previously treated wood with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner. Allow the timber to dry for at least 24 hours and make sure its moisture content is no higher than 17%. Sand rough wood fibres with 120-150 grit sandpaper if needed, and test the product on a less visible area before starting.
Apply WOCA Exterior Wood Oil in dry weather at a minimum temperature of 13°C. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures.
The wet oil may initially have a white shade. This is normal. After the water has evaporated for a few minutes, the wood will take on its oiled appearance.
Yes. WOCA Exterior Wood Oil is intended for the basic treatment and maintenance of new and previously oiled exterior wood. New timber should first be cleaned with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner and allowed to dry before oiling. Check the Technical Data Sheet to determine whether your timber requires WOCA Exterior Wood Primer.
Yes. WOCA Denmark instructs that excess oil should be wiped off with a clean cotton cloth after no more than five minutes, paying particular attention to joints and grooves.
WOCA Denmark states that Exterior Wood Oil takes 24-48 hours at 20°C to harden thoroughly, depending on weather conditions and outdoor temperature. The timber should not be exposed to water during this period.
It may. WOCA Denmark notes that timber around swimming pools and in areas where chemicals are used may need to be re-oiled more frequently.
WOCA Exterior Wood Oil is designed for outdoor wood surfaces including cladding. WOCA Denmark's application guidance notes that non pressure-treated softwoods should be primed before oiling, with red cedar specifically excluded from that primer requirement.
